I'm gonna call it Internet OCD (IOCD, if you will).
When you can't get up from your chair or get anything done or started until you finish "checking" all the websites and email and whatnot that you absolutely have to plug into and check for updates or new.developments.
...no matter how seldom they're likely to change, no matter how little any of it really matters to your day, your life, your education, your progress, or that of anyone else.

And my favorite new word: SLATTERNLY.
