the show last night was amazing. it has been a along time since i have been to a good ska show.all the bands that played were onit. deals gone bad was really good. some soul/ska. one of my new favorite bands right now. then the voodoo glow skulls hit the stage and the crowd went nuts. my wife had them before and she hated them. but after last night, she likes them. the energy they had was insane. mustard plug was good but it was missing the something. dont get me wrong, they sounded really good. then there are the toasters. the whole reason i came out to the show. one of my favorite ska bands of all time. they played all my favortie songs. those songs brought me back to the summer of '94. just 19 and didnt give a care in the world. selling drugs, drinking beers, fighting and just being a pain in the ass to society. one thing that happened last night, there was another band playing upstairs called underoath. there were a bunch of other kids there and one kid had an american flag drapped around him. he was outside in the smoking area with all his friends and he took it off and threw the flag on the ground and was telling people to step onthe flag and piss on it. at one point one of the kids out there was rubbing his ass with the flag. the flag hit the ground again and standing outside too were these very large skinhead that didnt take to kindly to was going on. they took that kid and pinned him against the wall and yelling at him.."if you dont like this country then leave!!!" a bouncer came out and grab that kid and his friends and they were all kicked out. one of the skins serverd three tours in iraq and was not going to let that shit stand. me and the wife were right there ready to help the skins if anything went down. fuck those stupid kids. they have no idea how good they have. in all it was good night. sore as hell right now form all the dancing and skanking. it was worth it!
