*sigh* The Tsunami victims.. absolutely horrible. You know.. it horrifies me.. but it seems liek such a terrible thing.. that I ought to witness it.. so that I appreciate my life to the fullest and mournfor the people who deserve it...
IVe been reading a lot about it too.. and Im really worried. I read in an article that one of the big problems of shr lanka.. is that They were and are at war with themselves often.. and so there are lots of land mines. When The tsunami hit.. it pushed a lot of them from teh ground..... so now... among the wreckage, there are mines.. waiting for someone to see a body to be saved.. and explode. I also read that 1/3rd of the victims are children... I read that Out of the comming diseases and problems... most likely a half of the deaths will be children. So.. soo terrible. The news is filled with hundreds of clips of people trying to find missing loved ones.. and then clips of volenteers saying that thousands of bodies are being burned withought being identified.. which means that thousands of people will never ever know what happened to thier loved ones.. where they are, if they are dead.. how they died... if it was painfull.. I worry about possible diseases.. and I worry about the people.. none of wich are wearing shoes in teh small towns, walking on teh wreckage, broken glass, nails... Hungry.. no water.. sewage.
.... Its jsut really really horrible. And I keep thinking about how many more lives are being taken in iraq.. and how much fuckign money we are spending to put our soldiers in harms way with weapons and plywood armored jeeps.. We live in a sick world.. when Asia is so crippled... and we're spending billions to kill mroe people and our emergency reserve is so depleted that all we have to help in our country's fund is 35 million. thats like a couple dollars per person.. thats not even one decent meal. Im definately donating..
