Admire your optimism :D The psychologist in me says SciFi/Fantasy comes from peoples experiences in reality. The current spate of zombies, pushing vampires off the top spot of the popularity stakes, suggests that either people feel they are moving through their lives having to suppress their emotions & therefore feel dead or are dealing with people who seem like the undead as they are non-responsive to real human contact. Which all means you are dead right just the apocalypse may already be here :D <3
