I know this homework assignment from @missy @charmaine and @lyxzen is meant to be our ideal day, BUT
I can pretty much say, today, I could write it down in my book as a perfect day.
I woke up refreshed,(which let's be real, that's a rarity for any of us) and started my day with some white chocolate cake batter coco-nut butter, and a granny smith apple.
I got to put on my makeup, with fresh dyed hair, and new jewelry. (Nothing beats, the first day with a new hair colour, it's perfect and bright, and nearly gleams.
I successfully drove to the downtown L.A Art District, WITHOUT GETTING LOST. (Half the time, that alone can make a perfect day) by myself lemme add!
I finally got to connect with @alissa
We have been trying to get together to shoot a very special set to me. I can honestly say, this is one person I think I could be around every day. She is so light hearted, funny and sweet. Shooting with her was just like hanging out. SO easy to be yourself with her. After taking this photo, I could not get over how much I really felt we looked alike.
Alissa helped me create a tribute to the walking dead franchise, and to one character in particular Daryl Dixon. (This in and of itself made today, a great day!) Being as I am a huge horror genre buff, and have a serious zombie infatuation. I feel like there is a little bit of Daryl in all of us. Plus he is such a badass, we all want to like him. BUT I digress, and let me stress we put a lot of creativity and love into this set. There is not a single frame in this set, that I can say I dislike. You all have to wait until NEXT season for this set, but trust me it will be well worth the wait. To hold you all over until than, here's one spoiler from Alissa herself.
I really have to thank @thelabrat for shooting with me earlier in the month. Since April, I had put on twenty pounds, (125.1 as of today) and was just in a rut, and not feeling very pretty, but working with Dylan, he was so much fun and encouraging. He had so much enthusiasm, it was infectious, and I really feel that if I hadn't gotten to work with him, my confidence might not have been at the level it needed to be to kick ass in this set.
When I first got on this site, I had the desire of working with all the staff photographers, and Alissa was definitely at the top. Moving here to California has allowed me to have so many great experiences, and chances to actually work with so many great people. Having the time to reflect on all these experiences and creating a mental deck of tips and tricks, it's like having them along (in your head I guess)
If I could some how remember how to capture the special parts of every day and hold that energy, and light heartness, perfection really could be every where we go.
If this doesn't count as a perfect day, I really don't know what would top it at least for me.
xoxo
