i decided to go to philly last night. there was a burlesque show, and a bunch of people i knew were going. and i know two of the girls that perform with the burlesque group. i got to the show about an hour after it started. since i hadn't done anything else today (off day), i figured i'd just walk. it was a good hike to get there but i didn't mind. i get to the street that the bar is on, and i see all these people outside. as i walked towards the bar, i saw my friend alex coming out. i found out there was some guy blowing fire, and he wasn't very good at it. not only did he accidentally set himself on fire, he also set 3 or 4 people at the bar on fire.

i'm not going to pretend i'm some kind of fire blowing expert, but i have seen people do it a few times. mr. firestarted wasn't spitting out the alcohol the way he should have. from what people told me, he was really half-assing it. he didn't have a towel to wipe off the excess alcohol that was on his face. he didn't have a partner (or partners) to help him in case something went wrong. my friends told me as soon as he started blowing fire, they just knew that something bad was going to happen. mr. firestarter (i have no idea what his real name is) wasn't burned too badly. and i believe the people he set on fire by accident weren't burned badly. he got the worst of it. i'll probably go to the next burlesque show, but i don't expect to see any fire blowers there ever again.
