Memphis, April 4, 1968

It was all over, the end of America's innocence. We killed one of our brightest and most endeared figures in American History. I am still saddened.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood tall in the face of prejudice and ignorance. He fought not only for African Americans, but for those who were poor and destitute. He brought all hope and he brought all of us the prospect of prosperity in the face of mammoth odds.

His dream is my dream and your dream. It shines bright in my heart and manifests itself in what I do.
