"This emotion Im feeling now, this is love, right?"

"I dont know. Is it a longing? Is it a giddy stupid happiness just because you're with me?"

"Yes," she said.

"That's influenza," said Miro. "Watch for nausea or diarrhea within a few hours."

This is long, so if you have a problem with longwinded entries, you might want to take this a paragraph each sitting.

I'm in love with movies; Sciencie-Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror to be specific, but there are lots and lots of great movies that dont fall into these categories I couldnt fathom never having seen.

I want to make a great movie, a trilogy even. There is something about trilogies, harder to pull off than to properly pluralize, but when correctly done they can hit and manipulate the human mind in wondorous ways. You fall in love with the charachters, feel loss when they die, hang onto their every word and actions. The rules of reality and sensibility are broken, and instead a new set of rules are implemented and embraced; they can become a way of life, a philosophy even, for the fans of the movies. Somewhere along the line it becomes something greater than the pen and ink that spawned it.

I want to make a movie that introduces new worlds and peoples and religions and ways of life and ways of thinking and new ways of shitting and smiling and everything. Ships larger than life, enemies as twisted as they are foreign to the human eye.

No CGI. CGI is the antichrist. Old School Lucas had the idea. Models and minatures and stop motion and realistic visual effects slightly tweaked and altered, smoothed at the edges and polished slightly on top with computer. It gives the effects a sense of dimension that CGI lacks. They didnt need it to make me believe a Star Destroyer was real, they didnt need it to make me believe Aliens were real, and they didnt need it for when Neo threw down with one-hundred Smiths. I hated that scene.

Ive been jotting down notes furiously for about a week now. I have about forty pages of background and plot and ideas worked out. Forty more and I'll grab Chris and Lee and start to turn the mess into something understandable.

I dont care about your boxoffice.

I dont care about your awards.

I really dont give a shit about your snooty parties.

I dont need the million dollar house and the coke.

I just want to make you think.

I want you to take a piece of it home with you as you leave the theatre. Make it your own in the following days, weeks, even years.

If I set my mind to it, I can make it something special. Drive has always been a problem of mine, always too laid back. But when the fire is sparked under my ass, I can move faster than anyone you have ever seen.

First comes the idea. Then you outline the idea and make it into a script. Then you make one script become fifty scripts. Then you make fifty become one again. Then when you have one again, you get someone to read it. And if it's any good, and by God it will be, you have your foot in the door. And thats all I need.

Peace out, and FUCK CGI.

Me.
