I was at work in London, just finished lunch when a friend IM'd me to say a plane had just hit the WTC. I had no idea what he was talking about (he worked for Sky so was always up-to-date with current affairs and sport etc.)

The phones started ringing off the hook so we brought a telly in from the store room and sat around watching events unfold on a tiny portable tv thinking it was like watching a movie.

When I got home after work I sat with my housemates (all South African) watching it on tv still - when we finally went to bed I remember waking up at about 4am because a plane was flying directly towards my house and planes never fly near the house - it turns out all London City Airport planes were diverted over Wimbledon (where I lived). Very scarey and sad times indeed.

I spent all day yesterday thinking about all the people in the world that lost someone that day. God bless them all.

Ok, birthday is off to an awesome start. My dad brought me in the package that trixxx shipped me - Vachon's Miami cakes. They are vanilla cakes with a dollop of cream and covered in toasted coconut. BEST CAKE EVARZ!!!!
