Time to update...
Roofers came last week and basically ran screaming from my yard. They said that it is going to cost me a lot of money, and I'm probably better off just trying to finance an addition since the entire roof has to come off. Yes I said entire - shingles, sheathing, framing. I'd love to rip the roof off and frame in the addition. With my current financial status thanks to the ex, and the fact that my house has dropped $30k in value in two years, no bank is going to lend me $60k to do it. Maybe I should just walk away from the house. I've already got one house on my credit in foreclosure, why not voluntarily do it with the second? I know why. I'm a responsible adult.

You know toys are over rated, all they need are those plastic bottles and they're fine. I really want to hunt down the genuis who invented the 500 block set... and the bastard who had to buy my son 2 of them.
I wonder if there's a decent end in sight for the middle class.
