This weekend I made fire.
We've been cutting down some of the bushes around the yard, and the town is very specific about how they want it dealt with to take away. If I'm going to take the time to cut it up that small, I'm burning it. So we did. Because fire safety is most important, I invited over my favorite fireman - GIBrett. I've been using an old metal garbage can, so we packed it up and got a nice roaring fire going. We stoked it from 5 until 9, then let it burn down. The next morning it still felt warm, but giving it a stir and there was just ash. Turns out I was wrong. About 3pm, I look out the window and the can is smoking again. It was really windy out, and it got the embers going really hot again - this is why they keep people away from house fires for several days. I did what any good man would do - I stuffed more kindling in and brought the fire back!
After a couple more hours of burning twigs, I got out the hose and put the fire out for good by filling the can about half way up with water.
