I had my last exam--botany--today, which was fairly straightforward. It's interesting to see professors who actually take the time to make exams more interesting than they usually are. For example, one question was: "Babe Ruth was able to hit 714 career home runs with his wooden bat because of: " and the choices were along the lines of, "Mesophyll cells, phloem fibers, ligninified secondary walls, or arabinogalactans." Another question spent about 5 lines talking about the history of Canada before getting down to the botany part. I like that.
One problem with that exam: the girl sitting in front of me was wearing a thong that was blatantly visible when she leaned forward... Distractions! Aargh!
Didn't get much sleep last night. At around 5 or 6 am, I had a vision, or something like it. It didn't feel like a dream, but I didn't feel totally awake either. A Terry Pratchett-esque figure of Death standing in my room with my girlfriend, who says "Hi.." or perhaps "Bye.." and with all my might, I manage to overcome nocturnal paralysis and shout "Not yet! Not yet!" And then they were gone.. I felt really, really disturbed afterwards, but then I fell back asleep. Am I hallucinating? Hanging around strange mushrooms in the botany lab too much? I don't know...

Patient Tan. No, it's not related to Agent Orange or Theme Blue (linguistics people will get that...). Tan is the pseudonym given to a patient of Dr. Paul Broca, who, as a result of a brain lesion in the area of the brain that would come to be known as Broca's Area, could only utter the syllable "Tan" and nothing else.

As for the vison, you're subconcious is probably trying to tell you something. What that might be, who knows, but don't worry, many subconcious symbols have different meanings than what we might normally attribute.
