Okay, last entry before leaving for Chicago...
Yesterday I did SO much... I made these fucking Martha brownies that took me 5-6 hours total (and they're still not cut into little squares). They are mocha fudge and are layered - there is a layer of mocha ganache between two brownie layers. They're for my friend who is taking care of my cats while I'm away.
My car is so damn clean I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself... inside and out. I even used leather cleaner on the seats! I hate making road trips in a dirty car.
I also just realized this morning - which would have been about 7am - that I am going to be rolling into Chicago tomorrow during rush hour... how lovely. It's not like I haven't driven it before, and luckily I'm not just "passing through"... but you know, I think I made a bad decision - even if it was the only one. I suppose there is no really great time to get into Chicago... unless it's from the hours of say, midnight to 5am.
Apparently I'm going to Six Flags next Wednesday with my best friend, his gf, and his kid. I haven't been on rides in FOREVER. I hope I don't throw up.
My best friend's motorcycle is up and running just in time for me to get there! (I swear to god if one more stupid motherfucker hits him I'm gonna KILL!!) So now I get my birthday ride!
So here's where I'll be in Chicago if anyone wants to join me:
Sunday 6/27: Gay Pride Parade (noon)
Friday 7/2: SG Book signing (6-7pm)
Friday 7/2: SGB at Double Door (9pm)
Dumb Mya/Chicago story:
About 2 years ago I was in Chicago with my best friend and his business partners and some friends of his from Portland... and we were all smoking pot in this Jeep while driving around downtown. This one guy was driving who was a little fucked up in the head in general, and on top of it was high and maybe drunk... and we got onto the freeway and were cruising along with the music really loud and all of a sudden someone goes "It's this exit!" Ok, we had like PASSED the exit practically... but this guy decides that at 75mph we're gonna take the exit anyway... and it's winter in Chicago... so we go to take the exit and there's a HUGE fucking snow bank at the exit where the plow had left all the snow. So at 75mph this guy jumps the fucking Jeep over the snow bank... I'm in the back in the middle between 2 huge guys and I don't have a seatbelt on cuz there wasn't one and I fly up off the seat and I'm grabbing onto one of the people next to me who is trying to keep my ass on the seat and I really think I'm gonna just about die but for some reason we take the fucking exit and everything is fine except I think we mighta lost some pot out of the bowl.
