so i bounced here from the academics group - how long are you gracing the lovely windy city? - and if you're into bookstores, i have to recommend hyde park: powell's used books and the seminary co-op book store (best academic bookstore in the country - no lie) are academic heaven.

My stepmom is buying me an iLap for my birthday, so hopefully that'll help.
