So FJ seems to think I don't give a fuck about working for him. I do, but right now, I don't have the time or energy to let myself trip too much. Soon, I keep telling myself, this little BS situation will change.

President Bush is a fucking weakass bastard by now. The Senate Democrats THREATEN to filibuster a damned good UN ambassador, and what does he do? Nothing. I mean, he doesn't even call them out and force them to actually DO it. He just gives up, and thus we increase the appearance of absolute impotence in the eyes of the UN. We'll probably get George Clooney in there instead. The average reader (if there ever were any) would probably not see this as THAT big of a deal, but the ramifications are increasingly profound as we consider the massive wave of stupidity coming from our government now. It's as if they're deliberately TRYING to make sure that we fail.

And after this I have to say, I'm with John Ziegler on this one. It's time to call it the way it is. They're just giving up. Our country is just about to throw in the towel. And why? Because 2 partied are more interested in battling against each other that they forget that the nation as a whole is, whether they realize it or not, at war.

Nancy Pelosi actually got away with saying that there IS NO AL QAEDA in Iraq because the 911 Commission said so. She felt bad for the President having to mislead that old, tired argument (in her opinion, apparently). NOBODY (except someone previously mentioned here) called her on it. 911 Commission that was FIVE YEARS AGO! NOW, in TODAY'S world, there are heads of Al Qaeda in Iraq, and leaders being captured (and far more probably getting away) all the time. They are the ones trying rather successfully to pit the Sunnis and Shiites against each other. Iraq is (probably) entering a civil war partly because of this. And if anyone knows about the memo the American people got from the idiot in charge of Iran holy crap. They're paying attention to or media, and the more our enemies at home talk shit, the more our enemies abroad harden their resolve to weaken ours.

And what do we do? Nothing. Nations divided internally during times of war and crises has NEVER been a good sign historically. What does this all look like? It looks like Hal Lindsey was right, and the United States will not be such a dominant superpower for long. Apparently, the biggest thing holding us up right now is the fact that our dollars are the only form of currency accepted for oil from Arabian countries. As soon as they switch to Euros we're fucked. And the way everyone (it seems) in our government now is throwing in the towel this may happen sooner than we'd like to imagine. I mean, who's going to stop them?

SHOULD anyone even stop them? Or do we perhaps deserve our downfall when it eventually happens (as it's almost certain to by now)? Sitting here, all nave, all ignorant of our place in human history. We're throwing ourselves away for NOTHING. Surrender to the illegals, surrender to being politically correct, surrender to the idea that one political party is BAD, and the other is GOOD, or else surrender to the conspiracy theorists who said that Y2K was going to kill us all. Honesty is almost completely absent from our world today, and what's worse is that NOBODY CARES.

Maybe the song Swept Away applies to more than just the knowledgeable people who choose not to act upon their knowledge. Maybe it applies to everyone else as well. Who *IS* going to fix us after we destroy it all?

Don't think about it
Maybe it'll all go away...

And there are still those who wonder why I don't think it's such a great idea to keep having more and more babies.

More later,

-MXV
