i get really fucking pissed off when i see people having a discussion and if one doesn't agree with what the other is saying they automaticly bring up the age thing. "well, it's obvious you're only 18!", and the like.
come the fuck on people! sure, there are some things that come with that particular age. like, when you're 8 you still have blind faith. but that doesn't make that person an idiot. as a matter of fact, most of the time the 17/18/19/etc. year old is making a good argument, wether or not i agree with their stance.
i use to have this problem with my grandfather who is a devote mormon and republican. if i talked him into a corner (which ALWAYS fucking happened! the man just believed what he was told. he felt you should never question.
) he'd lash out with "well, you're only 17. come back to me when you have more life experince." riiight.
the age thing is bullshit, period. i know 15 year olds who are more intellegent and grounded than my 42 year old mother. and i know 85 year olds who are more intellegent and grounded than my IQ of 140 22 year old friend. it's a fucking number that we're labeled with. much like the jews were labeled with a star in europe so many decades ago.
