i don't like eggs! only if its mixed in cake and i can't see it or taste it.
mmmm coffee though. funny, i just finished my vanilla soy latte. ya know, i got the espresso machine cause i'm cool like that.
coffee.
ya know.. move! do it! don't hesitate cause the longer you do, the more you'll think of reasons to keep you here. i want to leave so bad. and if i told my polish or french friend how unhappy i am, they would so take me in and knowing that makes me happy. but do i really want to live in that part of the world right now. i'm pretty clueless right now. i have too many options and i'm baffled by every one. i really need a change and i'm leaning towards n.y. cause its still in the states, close to montreal, d.c., and a plane from ny to london is hella cheap! more options in ny! and i've always wanted to go and when i want something bad enough i'll go after it!!!
yeah you're a creep! but not creepy. let me correct myself.
i can be a creep myself, well i've been called an asshole by the chicas. actually your personality is kick ass. love the whole sitting in boxers and stinking sort of deal.
wow! you're mexican. good deal. i met some kick ass mexicans from mexico city in london. very chill and kick back. had great style! not as much as the italians or spanish but its funny how people have this "border jumper" impression of mexicans! they obviously don't know mexican history. the history in mexico is amazing! i want to go to the beach, kick it on white sand, be able to walk around naked and still have the option to visit the pyramids or jungles!!! yay! i need to leave and i'm just itching to go anywhere!
But rock on! stink this bitch!!!

"Country Teasers
Well, not all the band are from Scotland but still a good mix. If you have a sense of humor and A taste, for demented punk/garage/countr music. Then the Teasers are the band for you. Definately far from twee."
They sound cool. I'll need to check them out. Is there any free stuff online by them do you know?
"Godspeed You Black Emperor
OKay, they're Canadian not Scottish but if you like Mogwai then you should try Godspeed. Less guitars and more strings. More distortion. More Despair. Epic sounding and beautilful."
Yeah, I've heard they're really cool and I always loved that name, which I believe comes from a line in Star Wars.
"Have you seen the film, Ratcatcher, directed by Lynne Ramsay? It's set in Glasgow during the cold summer of 1973. Lynne Ramsay is a photography major and it shows in this film with it's gorgeous compositions. The movie rovolves around a boy named James who accidently drowns his neighbor during a play fight but doesn't tell anyone that he killed him. James begins an innoccent relationship with the older, and sexual punching bag, Magarent Anne."
Not seen 'Rat Catcher' yet but I'm desperate to see Lynne Ramsay's film of the book "Morvern Callar" . The book was really cool and it sounds like the soundtrack will feature 'Some Velvet Morning' by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood and possibly cool stuff by Can and groups like that.

Glad you liked those Dawn Of The Replicants tracks muta18. Sure I've heard of Television. I used to borrow CDs off my aunt all the time and Marquee Moon was a favourite of hers.
i made a last minute decision to see them live at the fillmore. i missed half of the openning band isis but they were great. isis made the hair on my arms stand up straight. mogwai made me feel like i was floating. great show.
i did nothing today and it was going to be a...

"i haven't heard of Dawn of the Replicants but i have heard of Arab Strap and they're good i'm not too big of a fan but they're good."
Kind of an aquired taste, Arab Strap, but I like some of their stuff - kind of like Trainspotting stories set to Mogwai's music. The musician guy in the band, Malcolm Middleton did a cool album last year dressed as Crappo The Clown.
You should try out Dawn Of The Replicants in your search engine. They had a couple of albums in the late 90s on eastwest and an album last year on an Indie label. The Belfast DJ, David Holmes, did a really cool remix of their song 'Skullcrusher' that I'm hoping to track down again (borrowed by a friend I lost touch with).
"i like belle & sebastian a lot. the country teasers are amazing. i can't think of any of the other scot bands i like."
Not that mad on Belle and Sebastian. I think they're a little bit twee. But The Delgados are cool. They're the band who own Chemikal Underground records in Glasgow, which put out Arab Strap, Mogwai and Bis.
You probably heard The Beta Band on the 'High Fidelity' soundtrack (the band John Cusack said he could sell 5 copies of in that scene in the shop). I think they're mostly a Scottish band.
Ooops. Sorry for hijacking your journal, mutal. Guess I thought I was on the message board there. Think I'll start a Scottish Bands thread tomorrow.

Buck up! You live across from one of the coolest places on earth. In fact, I was born in the naval hospital that was closed down in Oakland. How's that for useless Sunday night information?
Anyway, hope you feel better soon.

Pavement: Spit on A Stranger
However you feel, whatever it takes
Whenever it's real, whatever awaits
Whatever you need, however so slight
Whenever it's real, whenever it's right
I'll be thinking long and hard
About the things you said to me
Like a bitter stranger
Now I see the long and short
And never ever what's in between
I could spit on a stranger
You're...

"i don't think there are any tracks available online for the country teasers. check out www.emusic.com they have samples of most of the country teasers album "
I like the sound of 'How I Found Black Brodie' (what I've heard of it, anyway). Sounds like a countyfied Royal Trux, which is v cool.
"morvern collar is a great book and the movie is pretty good. i like alan warner's the sopranos better though. Ratcatcher is definately worth checking out."
I've got so much stuff I need to check out. The Morvern Callar film is next on my list, I think.
"i was under the impression that godspeed you black emperor was the title to a japanese movie."
I dunno. My boyfriend says that it's a line someone says to Darth Vader in one of the Star Wars films.
