Mono was awesome. They were not actually the loudest thing I've ever heard-- that would be front row at Tomahawk/Melvins-- but it wasn't because they weren't trying. They just maxed out the sound system. The music was a whole lot better live... they started out all GYBE with the instrumental smoothness, but by the time the songs reached the top it was so noisy and distorted and fucking LOUD that it sounded more like Merzbow than anything else. Highly recommended! Still not the boredoms. Oh well, I'll get my chance.
I never really understood the big deal about pinball when I was a kid. But I now realize that the secret to enjoying it is to pick a machine you like and play the shit out of it, so you get the tricky shots and figure out the bonuses and switches and how to get multiball. Now I'm addicted, isn't that great?

The thing about mono, from what I've heard, is that their live show is designed to "hypnotize you with volume." As in, it's gonna be the loudest fucking thing I've ever heard. I'm torn though... should I wear earplugs so I can enjoy shows in the future, or should I go without in order to get the full effect? Who am I kidding... I don't own any earplugs.
Anyway, it looks like you and I have very similar taste in music, so I'm going to look up the other bands on your favorites list.
