So I really don't know how to appreciate compliments. I have gotten a couple of really, really heartfelt compliments from music I've done and when the person talked about how my music made them felt I stood there baffled. Don't get me wrong, my music means a whole lot to me. I've just kind of given up on it actually meaning anything to anyone else....

So I was just having a political conversation earlier which was actually pleasant. I was talking with a very left wing guy who claimed to be a radical liberal. Technically that's a contradiction since radical is the right wing extreme but I knew what he was trying to say.
Anyway, I came to a realization. Throughout history, there have always been classes. Divides by income,...

There is one obvious example you haven't mentioned - hip hop. Aren't a lot of trend-setting rappers from government housing projects? I think there is even backlash if you are a rapper and did not come from the housing projects and may not be considered to be legit.
Hmm, is this phenomenon new, I don't know. Back in medieval times, didn't the kings hire or enslave poor people to come in and entertain them? I think they might have been inspired by the lower class back then too.
Another part of this is, stereotypically rich people do not have a lot of soul. A lot of music roots develop out of the struggles (financial and otherwise) of people. Rich people have their problems also of course, but you may be less likely to write music with angst and heartbreak if you are living high up on the hill in an ivory tower.
A lot of creativity does develop out of the wealthy class though. Primarily because they have more free time for free thinking because they do not have to worry about making a living. All three of the Bronte sisters wrote a classic novel while other kids their age were out working on the farms or begging in the streets. Does that make the Bronte's better than other people? No, maybe they just had more time on their hands.

Pics of my favorite horror characters
I forgot one of my favorite remix albums on the last post. Attrition's Hand that Feeds. Freaking amazing album! Dark as hell! The album starts with a pure noise track and then goes into some type of darkwave techno (yeah I suck at the labels) and even includes a track reminiscient of old Thirll Kill Kult styles. Attrition is a really weird band. If you...

So I've decided Salad Days in Promenade mall is my new fast food place to go. Their wraps are badass!
I've also decided this Chemlab: Rock Whore versus Dance Whore remix album is fucking awesome! Remix albums always wind up being some of my favorite music from experimental artists. Snog's Relax into the Abyss has some fantastic Trip Hop/Noize/IDM mixes on it. Its also where...

Now I'm not going to say I'd ever hit a woiman.... I mean I've play fought before but nothing where I hit a girl seriously... I'd never really want to hit a girl or anyone for that matter... but man there are some chicks on here that I would totally punch. And I'm not a hateful person. I don't spend large amounts of time thinking...

Maybe I should attempt to get more friends on here.
So there was a concert tonight that I didn't go to but I heard about. It was the Best Friends (maybe as Lilum) and Secret Post playing Tulsa Eagle. Evidently they packed the place out. The Secret Post just formed. The Best Friends have been around for years and have some type of following from...

Damn I miss my myspace account already, how pathetic is that? Don't answer. This must be the month of me killing various addictions (ie no alcohol, no soda).
I have been working my ass off in school the last 7 days. Well except Sunday which was a band practice day which starts at 10 AM with the packing and ends at 5 PM with the...

I need to get more friends on this thing.
I deleted my personal Myspace by the way. I decided it was too much of a crutch and I wasted too much time on it.
So this weekend has been non-stop studying and I'm still nowhere near a breaking point. I have a Physics 2 test tomorrow over Kirkcoff and Ohm among others. I have a...

Lol.
So I got fired today. I bitched out my boss. Yay for that. I didn't really need the job right now anyway as it just provided play money. I live off of student loans pretty much. It'll be nice to have the extra time to get caught up with my studies and possibly play more video games. I was getting really stressed out anyway and...

Um, I guess I am shocked about your "behavior". When are you going to learn Autocad and come work for us?
So I watched the movie Irreversible. Definitely one of the more disturbing movies I've seen. I don't recommend it and I'm not going to watch it again. I kind of want to watch the first again because it was very hard to tell what was going on. The director did it intentionally. Hell the first half of the movie looks like it was directed by...

I had a hard time with it until I realized it was in the same style as Memento, as far as running backwards. I got tired of it about half way through, then just fast forwarded it through the rest of the movie. Then I watched all the behind-the-scenes stuff and was amazed that even knowing all that stuff they went through, and knowing all about movie-stuff anyway, that it still instilled that same reaction in me.
It's been a good four or five months since I watched it, and I'm still not ready to see it again.

Dude, I am really digging the Axis CD. More later...
Now if I receive any tidbits of information about what the artist was doing or thinking when they made a song, or their inspiration or any story, I love it. I eat that stuff up. Because then there really is a connection between artist and fan, and I sort of look at it as I have something that other people don't have (sounds a bit psycho-stalker I know).
This is true of local artists or the big-time people.
I have been thinking about how cool it would be if all actors, musicians, anyone in entertainment had pages where we could go post comments similar to SG. Going to someones website and leaving a note in their guest book just doesn't seem the same anymore.
