i cannot believe the devistation caused by katrina. what is happening is absolutely heartbreaking.
i've decided to give $100 of my own personal savings to the cause and blood at the next drive i hear about....i figure its the least i could do for these people.......if i didn't have to worry about the safety of my daughter i'd even be willing to take in a couple of people for a bit so that they could at least have some amount of shelter.......this event was so abruptly life changing for so many people that it makes my heart ache......i couldn't even begin to imagine what it must be like. no drinkable water, no food, no shelter and no saftey..............they literally have nothing.
if only i could do more

One person can do very much. You do what you can, you know. What you did is awesome. I plan to donate as much, myself. I wish I had a house so I could offer the shelter- I think people are taking donations to send, as well; like old sleeping bags, pillows, etc. But i'm all the way up here in PA. I was wondering how it was going down where you are, when I saw you're in Florida.
