there is no single album out there that holds as much sentimental value to me than the cure's "disintegration"
i have to do a little retreat back into my head whenever i listen to it......especially during the title song
certain events at a very uncertain time in my life are painted out exactly with those lyrics..........everything down to "the soft and the black and the velvety, up tight against the side of me"
funny how lyrics can illustrate people's own personal experiences like that............but perhaps that's one of the elements that makes a song so exceptional.......when people can just connect.
......no matter how far off from the original meaning said experiences may be
vnv nation's "standing" explains that same time in full as well but i've never bothered to look at what they meant when writing it.....why? because it would ruin the meaning for myself....
i feel somewhat selfish for that
.......
.....maybe one day when i feel exceptionally open i'll explain a bit more......but honestly, you could probbly look up those lyrics yourself and see just what i'm talking about......or probably assume it all wrong just as easily......either way, i need to go eat.
