oh my god. I just saw Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's "21 Grams", and what a fucking amazing movie it was too.
for those "Amores Perros" fans, "21 Grams" is just as intense and just as clever.
at first it seems pretty crazy to follow - the shifts-in-time (like in "Amores Perros") happen with every scene, and at first you can't really follow whether you have just lept forward or shot backwards within the story.
however, as you get used to it, it becomes apparent which bits of the story you are meant to follow, which ends up providing a fairly cohesive plot.
its a very clever device, which adds to the story, and keeps you on your toes right up to the very end.
the three leads are ace too - Benicio Del Toro, Naomi Watts and Sean Penn are all fantastic in this.
