Last night I went to the DIE SO FLUID album launch party at the Borderline. they were ace as usual. I've been seeing Grog (the singer-bassplayer) playing in bands for over 10 years now. they deserve to finally be getting somewhere as the new stuff is awesome.

Other News

THE SMALL MERCIES have hit a bit of a bump in the last few weeks. after a few very difficult, complicated and confusing weeks, it was finally decided that we'd go our seperate ways with Phil our singer.

this was a very difficult decision to make, but the endless butting of heads was getting to be a bit of a joke, as two of the band members continually refused to budge on their opinions over what i'd describe as "a difference of opinion regarding commitment to the band".

we've already rehearsed without Phil, trying out new singers and other options, and funnily enough as scary as it is, we actually feel much happier and much more unified as a band. I think we'll come through this fairly quickly...assuming that people that come to see us are happy to embrace the change and come along for the ride with us, and not take the split personally (believe it or not, some people are taking it as a personal slight that we've split with Phil - WHAT THE FUCK??? ). I mean we've only done 10 gigs - its not as if we're well known or anything!!

we've done too much work to jack it all in. so we're starting recording our first release (an 8 track mini album) next month, and are looking into booking a tour of the UK for end of june.

same old same old really - drunk far too much last weekend, so having a quieter one this weekend for a change!
