so, first things first, i was shown the application for my pay rise and upgrade today. i nearly shat myself when i found out how much my wages are gonna go up. for some of you it probably isn't enough to get excited about. but i've never had a payrise like it. and hopefully, if it comes through in time, it will cover my mortage increase AND i'll still be making on the deal, esp with my weekly travel expenses.

looks like my move to the new office has really fuckin paid off. can't believe it.

anyhoo...

inspired by a couple of lunatics on this here website who have recently picked up guitars and basses and are practicing like buggers (they know who they are ), i finally dug my amp out for the first time in two years and have happily bashing away at my guitar again.



its been a while since i've actually had an amplified guitar in my hands, and its great. and for the first time in 15 years, i'm even feeling some minor song inspiration coming back. i wanna get back into it again, so i'm hoping i can drag a couple of simple little punk rock songs out of me in the next few days.

i got hold of a sneaky copy of The Grits new album off Jackie last week, and i must say its taken over as my fave album of the week (The Draft has been put on hold for a while). this albums been a long time coming....and it was worth waiting for.



i can't wait to see these guys at the end of the month, esp as i get to see them twice, with a whole host of my regular gig buddies. gonna be excellent.

as for more new music, this dropped through the post this morning...



i must say i'm impressed. total impulse buy after hearing a couple of tracks on their MySpace page. Thought i'd better have a listen seeing as i'll be seeing them in April, and i'm looking forward to it. Always nice to come across another snotty punk band with trumpets...
