long time, no update...
this week, i saw this:
without giving too much away, i thought it was great, i really fucking enjoyed it.
Brett Ratner did a good job i thought, although Bryan Singer would have definately made a lot more with it.
I think Ratner had problems handling all the different characters (and there were a lot of them!). but he's a demon with the action stuff, and some of the special effects were pretty spectacular (an i'm not a special effects lover usually).
but theres some nice twists, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) were both ace again, and theres some amazing footage of san Francisco...i wish i coulda posted some pics of the mess they leave the place in!
EDITED TO ADD: Vinnie Jones is supremely SHITE in this. it was bad enough having him in the film, but why give him lines? nasty...
rest of the weekend was spent down my parents on the south coast. it was pretty uneventful to be honest.
they say you can pick your friends but can't pick your family. this definately was the case this weekend. it seems we have acquired a long lost second cousin of my dad and uncle.
this 55 year old no-mark spent the entire weekend with us, and didn't have a good word to say about anything. possibly one of the most sarcastic people i have ever met. he just had nothing interesting to say at all.
seems my dad and uncle met him at a funeral 4 years ago - 40 years after they last saw him.
he now seems to be inviting himself down to my uncles whenever he wants and turns up on his vespa.
i went down there for a quiet weekend.
i have never missed The Ship and my buddies as much as i did this weekend. argh...
...roll on next saturday!

haha incredulous looks, since when has going to gigs been classed as deviant behaviour?

stenno:
