so who'da thunk it? three amazing gigs in three days. saturday and sunday i see what is probably the best Bouncing Souls shows i've seen for a while, only for those shows to get well and truly blown away by The Drips at the Camden Barfly!
if you haven't checked them out yet, DO SO. its members of The Bronx and The Distillers, and its a band they've been doing since before those bands took off. i doubt they'll be around long, as The Bronx are due a new album in june.
anyway, they put on a totally FULL-ON punk rock show. The Drips are kinda like The Bronx, except they are far more back-to-basics old school West Coast punk than The Bronx (less hardcore and less mental time signatures).
Tony Distiller is the other guitarist/shouter, and he certainly seems to enjoy making such a fucking racket!
the gig was half empty, full of "older people" (like me), and a fab time was had by all - especially Matt the singer, who spent most of the time grinning like a lunatic, shouting his head off, waving his arms like a spazz, wrestling with members of the audience and wrecking the drum kit.
go and buy the album now kiddies - you won't regret it (unless you don't like Black Flag or AC/DC - then yer fucked)

Oh and Kat Von D rocks too. She actually works in the same shop as Chris (which he co-owns.) Here's her and Chris' Myspace page.
Have fun
