so this time last year i ended up at Wasted @ Xmas with oak and saw Sham 69, The Damned and the Avengers. a bloody good day of punk rock and beers it was too! 
so i did it again today! A nice early start at the Astoria on a sunday morning, and beers with my old school punk rock mates...
the day went a bit like this:
1. 12.00 - 14.00. saw the Grit, Menace and The Straps. Unremarkable stuff, apart from Menace doing a song called "GLC" ("you're full of shit shit shit")
2. left the venue for eats and more beer
3. 16.00 came back for TV Smith (The Adverts) acoustic set - this guy is totally PUNK ROCK! then catch 999, who rule, and the UK SUBS, who fucking tear the venue a new arsehole:
"Hello Lars Frederikson from Rancid. I just worked out where you nicked all your ideas from!"
4. totally punk the fuck out for the ANGELIC UPSTARTS who i have never seen before. totally fucking amazing:
"Hello DROPKICK MURPHYS. I just worked out where you nicked all your ideas from!"
the Upstarts ruled, BIG TIME!
5. 18.00 bumped into the totally hot-as-hell Jezabel while The Saints make total cunts if themselves.
then have a quick chat with GAYE ADVERT who is a very lovely lady.
6. 20.00 THE DICKIES kick motherfukcing arse as they always do. Stan does some searing guitar solos, Leonard brings out the Blow-Up Doll and the Penis Puppet, and the bassist is dressed like a cartoon bear. they also do a cover of "Silent Night", as its xmas...
7. 21.00 Dickies end, and i'm chatting to the extremely hot sister of an extremely hot mohican punk chick i spotted earlier. this girlie is bleached blonde, from Newcastle, 5 foot nothin, 36 years old, and has a Stiff Little Fingers tattoo on her back.
we can't stop rabbiting at each other. she tells me how perfect we are for each other...
...i meet her boyfriend. he seems cool - has a great Misfits tattoo.
8. 22.50 Leave the venue as The Rezillos finish "Top Of The Pops".
Stagger past my fave place ever THE SHIP, which is shut.
get invited in by a very drunk Charlotte (and Danny, who is tidying up).
talk bollocks for 5 mins (cos i'm pissed too), give Charlotte a big sloppy kiss, then leave and come home!

That said, Gin Panic played a damn good gig sunday and there was a really storming punk rock band on before them. Considering the Ficghting Cocks is about the size of my dick, they were going absolutely apeshit, leaping all over the place, posing, was most entertaining
