Friday and Saturday was the 1st International London Tattoo Convention, and bloody great it was too!
If theres anything that'll get you itching for more ink, its a tattoo convention filled with the likes of artists that came over for this one (Henning Jorgensen, Scott Sylvia, Hannah Aitchison to name but three). shame i have no money at present, as it seems they all had free slots for tattoo sessions. bugger!
Within minutes of walking through the door (after queuing for nearly 2 hours), i was accosted by a mate and dragged over to Theo Jaks stand from Illuminata Stigmata in Stockholm, where this sign was pointed out to me:
Theo shouted out "Hey! You'll do" and we got talking. Needless to say, i won't be getting the free bodysuit, but i will try my damndest to get a tattoo off this guy sometime in future. totally amazing artist, and as mad as a hatter! i'm glad i discovered him...
Theo Jak at work:
Finally caught up with the elusive Vix, who was there taking photos for Skin Deep. Within minutes, me and CrackHeidi had been marched up to the Skin Deep studio to have our photos taken - which was fun!
Next up, met up with the guys at Frith Street Tattoo, and a brief chat with Steve Byrne, who i definately want to do my next tattoo. only trouble is, i need to work out what I actually want him to do.
Steve at work:
ymonster was running the Art Fusion Project (where a bunch of tattoo artists work on a number of canvasses and rotate through each of the pictures). This was amazing to watch, and we caught a couple of shows over the two days. was also very cool to speak to Tim over the two days. next time he comes over, i hope he's tattooing!
Fridays Art Fusion:
Its been a totally fantastic couple of days. Got to hang out with loads of good people, meet up with old friends (hello Vix), see some amazing and inspiring tattooists, and have a fantastic curry in Brick Lane.
My mate Chris also managed to not only work out exactly what he wants as his first tattoo, but who is also gonna do it for him. That was really exciting to see pan out on saturday, and Danny from FST was extremely helpful in sorting Chris out with the info he needed.
Roll on next year, i wanna go again!

I was going to get one for my first decent guitar but changed my mind at the last minute & got a Strat.
