What a week.
So my ber good friend, Sarah, flew in from NY to visit with her boyfriend, Giuseppe. He's in the fashion biz. (ladies buy D&G. support the family) We had a excellent BBQ at the casa de San Pedro.
Sarah asked me to go on a short road trip, and I couldn't pass it up, so we went down to Solvang, a small danish suburb of Santa Barbara, to visit her mother and sister. Now, these three girls are like my extended family. I've run with Sarah since the 9th grade. She is pretty much the paradigm for all of the women in my life. Her mother, Tina, was like a mother to me. I used to drink red wine and smoke cigarettes with her in their back yard when I was a teenager. I joined in on the obligatory "hazing" of her little sister, Heather, just like any big brother would.
So we started out the trip by going to the Santa Barbara MOMA (let me tell you, I love art museums), and this totally rekindled my need for artistic expression, other than music. Then we went to a quiet beach with Heather's two dogs and relaxed for a few hours, followed by a warm patio dinner at a local mexican food joint. We did a lot of drinking, smoking, and laughing about old times. i fucking live for that shit.
Our trip ended and 4th of July was upon us. Sarah and I parted ways, and I joined Punt and my roommate Joe to the Parkside for some food, folks and fun. They had a cool hot rod show, and some debauchery with a few SG kids. DOOD, it ruled. L is now residing in the SF bay.
