Let me start by saying that Jedi Mind Tricks are a bunch of motherfuckers! They were scheduled to play in my store today. All was going according to plan. They showed up a bit late, looked around, and were pissed cuz the place wasn't packed to the gills. There was still a decent crowd of THEIR FANS who were very excited. 10 minutes after they were supposed to go on, they decide that they aren't going to perform. Basically, they fucked us, but more importantly, THEIR FANS!!! Man, if I was doing an instore performance and 1 person showed up, I'd still do it.
Just got back from stuffin' myself full o' mexican grub with my boss, who is in from Chicago. It was damn good, too! When I went through my mail, I was pleased to find that the good people at Epitaph sent me the new Joe Strummer CD, as well as the new Grandpaboy (Paul Westerberg)! There's definitely good rockin' tonight.
VERDICT: the Joe Strummer is a good record. It wasn't finished when he died, so what they had is very satisfying. Cool cover of Marley's "Redemption Song".
