Not much to update except:

The boy's car got stolen last Monday night. He went out on Tuesday to go to work, and it was gone.
However, it was kind of a blessing in disguise, as his other one was a piece of crap.

The bad: he had spent SO much time and effort on his old truck trying to make it better piece by piece. He loved working on it. Plus, when it was stolen it had ALL his electrician's tools in it, a good number of our cds, a bucket of copper worth about $75, AND he had just replaced the tires a couple months ago and the radiator and some other things really recently. frown

The good: the thing was NOT presentable and since we DJ weddings we always felt horrible driving up in it. HE was pissing away about $125 every month into a vehicle that probably would have lasted him another year, MAYBE (it was an '88).
AND, we got a new one at an amazing price, and since he has awesome credit hhe was approved for a loan in 2 minutes flat.

Here's the old truck:

1988 Toyota pickup. Went through a tree years ago, and the front end is rebuilt. He spray painted the front in because it was completely rust when he bought it from his ex-girlfriend's father a couple years ago. And someone decided to go and scratch up the sides nice and good all the way around with a sharp rock.

Here's the new truck:

1999 Dodge Dakota. We got it at the Portland Rescue Mission for $5,100. Since it's donated to them they can sell it for ridiculously cheap. Blue Book value is $6000 for personal seller, $8000 for retail. PLUS, because he has such good credit AND an amazing driving record he is only paying $200 a month including car payment AND full comprehensive insurance.

smile smile smile

Plus it's an automatic, so I can finally drive it around. I never quite got the hang of a manual.
