Well today was... interesting. To say the least.
Without getting into my shitty, shitty morning, suffice it to say that:
1) I woke up at 7am after going to bed at 2am.
2) The universe wanted me to have every problem I could possibly have involving a bus.
3) I spent 7 hours out today, and 4 of those ended up being transportation, or some issue with it (to get to and from somewhere 20 minutes away)
4) I have awful popped blisters on the back of my heels that make it painful to walk.
Yes. All in all, 3 buses were late, 1 bus didn't come at all, I missed 3 buses (because the others were late) all by less than 3 minutes, and I went the wrong direction on a bus, causing me to walk half a mile before catching the right one.
Oh, and you don't even KNOW how bad you have to pee after a soda (for blood sugar) and a cup of water and 90 minutes waiting to get back home on the bus.
So that's the short of it. I could describe my morning in detail, but why bring up bad stuff again, huh?
The POSITIVE of the day was:
1) I am now all too familiar with the buses, their routes, and their schedules in a part of town I previously was not familiar with.
2) For the first time EVER, in my whole life, I had blood drawn (7 vials of it). And surprisingly enough, I didn't freak out at all! Which is amazing considering my record of panic attacks at the sight of syringes. I seriously have just recently learned to even be okay with shots... (yes, fuck you, I'm a pussy)
3) When I go back in for my final visit January 10th I'm getting something like $125. Yay for research studies.
So tonight, I have a couple options.
1) I could go out to the Mirah concert. Mirah is awesome, so amazing, and I would love to see her live. It only costs $7 or so, but I'd have to truck all the way out to the bus stop again, get myself downtown, and make the trip back later tonight.
2) I could stay home, catch the latest episode of BSG (which may or may not be filler crap), baby myself, crawl in bed, read a book, maybe eat some ice cream. Talk to boy about BSG and other shtuff going on in our bizarre lives.
Man, option 2 sounds good... but that concert would be cool to go to, as well...

I just had a less than favorable day myself. I can empathize.

apparently_so:
I'm at about th 4.5 month mark on this one. Thanks for the advice, though, I'll stick it out for a bit longer and see how it goes.
