I like the new comments and mail icons. Cute. So watch out friends, i am going to be PM'ing you to test this new capability out.
UPDATE: I just went out for a run, and lo and behold my 5k's of the last two days (after uh, no running in 3 months) left me a bit tired and unable to do a tempo run. So i did some intervals, which I like.
I run fast - I aim for about 7:15 min/miles - between points a & b. then I walk to recover between points b & c. Then I repeat. When I run fast I focus on a) speed, b) leg turnover, c) form, d) relaxing, e) mental toughness to not stop early or slow down. I did 6 repeats which is good for early season.
What i like about these intervals is that it teaches the body to tolerate pain, flush lactic acid, and get used to high leg speed turnover. After doing these once a week for like a month i find that my overall speed increases because my legs just get used to going faster. That's how I went from 12min miles last winter to 8 minute miles in Aug. My goal this year is 7:15 min/miles. I'd be stoked with that, esp. if I could hold that for 10 miles.
the dogs don't like intervals so much. They just wander off into the grass and smell stuff.
