You know, all I really want to do tomorrow night is hunker down, wrap up in a nice warm blanket and watch movies. perhaps with popcorn and hot chocolate.

God I'm old! whatever
goblintcat:
Especially with the snow falling outside. I do believe that's wht Christmas is all about!

Oh well, maybe Saturday night will work!

We usually go play in the snow in Wrightwood, which is about 30 minutes from our parents house, so we go sleding (with the plastic ones you can get from the grocery store) and then hit this little fastfood joint and go thaw out at my inlaws, Fun day all around. biggrin
breezey:
ring fingure still broken, but it doesn't really hurt, so no problems. biggrin

Laundry = bah!

On a happy note, I've nailed a huge fluffy comforter over my north-facing sliding glass door and am noticing an appreciable increase in the temperature of my family room.

Tacky? Oh yes. Warmer? OH HELL YES!! biggrin
goblintcat:
Laundry. Oh how I hate it! And honestly, tacky is a small price to pay for warmth! Heck, I live in a student town. 90% of all the windows here are covered with some form of linen or other!
breezey:
Mnementh and I took all our laundry to his parents house when we went for thanks giving, his mom and grandma ended up folding it all and putting it in our laundry bags for us (we didn't ask, and keeping his grandma from laundry is like trying to keep a pig out of the mud, impossible). And if it makes your house warmer for free, more power to you!

Christmas Explosion, part II.

Well, it's mostly done, I think. I need to iron the tree skirt, which ended up in a wad even though I distinctly remember folding it neatly and putting it away...unless that just happened in my imagination, which is ALWAYS possible.

And the top's cut off because the angel's not up there yet. She's not working right and I'm really unhappy...

Well, I figure someone should enjoy the adventures that seem to happen to me. AND it's in writing! So I can always relive the adventures again and again! smile
goblintcat:
On the up side, children don't bite you either! wink I'm a little worried. I'm teaching in a different hospital tonight (still helping out the Sherbrooke school). Lord only knows what'll happen. Maybe I won't go through the emergency room this time! smile

Oh yeah, I finished that paper, at about 7:15 yesterday morning. I was something akin to a zombie all day because of it, too smile Man, staying up all night used to be no problem. Now I'm just getting too old for it biggrin

However, I think we're getting an A on it. Yay me biggrin

I'll have to keep that in mind!

Congrats on the A!
carlow:
Yeah, I hear ya... you know, I never even got around to starting my shopping yesterday like I had set out to do! frown I actually went out, but did I make it to the malls? Nope. Did I slack off all afternoon and hangout in coffee shops? Yup.

I don't know if I ever mentioned to you all how spectacularly I failed at my "stop smoking" effort of last summer. I was SO good for...oh, a couple of months. Then someone offered me a cigarette, I caved in a moment of extreme stupidity and weakness...and I was back.

Well, I'm back to trying to quit again. I haven't had a cigarette since Sunday...

The uniforms they had us wear consisted of heather gray t-shirts with the school crest or insignia what ever you want to call it in the left hand corner on the front, black pants or shorts gray socks and black shoes. Yes that is right they turned the whole campus into a depressing gray and black blob, it was sooo poorly thought out on their part. I never had problems wearing regular clothes, never felt bad becuase I didn't have the same clothes or the best clothes, but was really pissd off when they told us what the uniforms were.
slavewire:
but ciggies smell bad! puke
i'd rather much do drugs than put up with stinky cigarette odour...
i'm glad i don't smoke anymore! but it was easy for me to stop, coz i never really liked'em to begin with! it was more like a sress relief or a boredom thing..

opinion on school uniforms? personally, when i was at school, i wished they didn't exist. just like in the states! however.. girls did always look sexy in school uniforms. well, most of the time anyway.

Apparently I'm a glutton for punishment. I'm cooking dinner for a pile of people tonight, and it turns out that all I really want to do is have a lovely nap surreal

I must be to. My professor in a class that I have to pass the final to pass the class, was going over what was going to be on the final and I could not stay awake for the life of me. He's just so monotone and boring! skull
randomrockstar:
Mmmm...yummy punishment!

I love my little Charlie Brown Christmas tree! It's so cute! I'd like to get a bigger one...maybe 3 or 4 feet tall...I know Walmart has a cute little 3 footer for $9.98.
Don't you love Wally World?
But I really couldn't wait to get a tree and stuff...you are a glutton for punishment, I'm a glutton for CHRISTMAS!!!

I'd like to say that I'm feeling MUCH better today than I have for the last couple of days, but I'm afraid that doing so may jinx me. After all, I felt much better on Saturday, too...then Sunday hit shocked

So I've been rather out of the loop, barring a couple of random comments here and there...I missed you guys! smile

Update: It's 2:42 am right...

I woke up this morning with a scratchy voice. By 2pm, scratchy had turned into frog-like croaking. Now, 5 hours later, I sound like Marge Simpson. What the hell?!?

About the book... why don't you just email me your address, and I'll send it on its way? Consider it a Christmas present. smile
goblintcat:
Marge Simpson? That can't be good! Honey & lemon...and gin! Lots of gin! Actually forget the honey and lemon! It won't make your throat better but you won't care anymore! wink
