my favorite quote of the day:
"No one is allowed to be so proud they never reach out when they're giving up."

Tell me what that's from and I'll love you forever smile

Yay, I woke up in a much better mood today. I could've stayed in bed for another three hours because I didn't go to bed until after 5 this morning (again--I've GOT to...

Yeah...about that last post. Everything's mostly better now, I think. We'll see how it goes the next time I talk to her.

I've been out looking for a job today. Doesn't anyone in Kansas City need a nice, conscientious, shows up every day and does her work for a reasonable wage kind of employee??

I think I figured out the problem. It's that "reasonable wage"...

Damn companies seem to do that now, hiring part timers. That way they don't have to dish out any benifits, dental, etc whatever

It's 5 am. I haven't been to bed yet. I got into a wicked not-really-an-argument with one of my very best friends and we've been online trying to talk it out. It's the first time we've fought in the 11 years that we've known each other.

I'm not even sure I know what we were fighting about.

But I know I'm *really* sad.

That quote about being happy I added to my journal entry last night made me start thinking. It sort of sums up my life in 25 words or less.

Another that I really like, because it's just so freakin' true:

"And you must know that we do not really change over time; we are as flowers unfolding; we merely become more nearly ourselves."

The older...

Haven't heard of her, I'll have to check it out...Robbins wrote Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, made into a movie in the early 90's I think. He writes ...kinda hard to describe...wacky very descriptive, stories of these outlandish characters in completely bizarre situations. My favorite was his most recent...Villa Incognito, about two ex-military guys, who really deserted, became heroin dealers, but only to clinics helping cancer patients...Some of his writing is a bit hard to grasp, but I love it. My sister turned me onto him when I was 15, and he is my favorite author by far. Witty, strange, comedic and unexpected. biggrin

Hehehe...that looks like lotsa fun! (Use with caution, I guess... wink )

You're too cute!

I'm SO TIRED of allergy season. My head feels like a cantaloupe tongue

I've about decided I'm not going to wait for a new job before I put the purple streak in my hair. A friend suggested I just get the kind of extensions that just attach with little tiny clips so that I can take it out when I don't want it to show until...

Not much that I can think of...but I'd be graduating from Harvard Law school, living on Brookline Ave. in downtown Boston and drive a Porsche...

I'm happy, and he's got a good point.
randomrockstar:
I totally believe it...

I think that I'm happy all the time, but looking back on it, I wouldn't call it happy. I'd call it a short stone throw away from pathetic...but I guess that's when I'm happy, and as happy as I get, so I don't complain...

Oh my god!

I just got the most random phone call. I have a friend I call Tree (there's a reason for it, but the one you make up will be more interesting--and it's not because he's tall, either). We've been friends since we were 10 or 11 years old, and I've known him longer than anyone outside of my family. We moved a lot...

Whoo! Tropical island, white beaches, coconuts AND nakedness! Now that sounds like a plan! smile

Actually, l sort of planned on the monkeys volenteering. We could put up posters in zoos and such (Quebec is not world renowned for it's monkey population) and go from there. I mean what monkey wouldn't want to see the world and become a pirate at the same time?

If that doesn't work l suppose we'd have to resort to catching them. That would probably work for the stupider monkeys but do we really want a ship full of monkeys that we could actually catch? Which one would use the cell phone?

Sexy mama!!! You should've fucked his brains out just to give his wife something to be jealous of! I hate hate HATE insecure women like that!
Don't be jealous, just do it up. It's just hair, after all...it'll grow out, or grow back or you can always change it...
Thank you...you make me blush! kiss blush

Mood: in one, but trying to hide it

Just so you don't get the wrong idea...
lunch today was a toaster awful...er, waffle. I love to cook, but I loathe cleaning the kitchen so it's usually easier to just not cook smile

I've got a house full of people coming over for dinner, so...

Dang it! Double posted again! Curse my impatience!

I think we might have run into a technical difficulty. I can't swim and am quite sure that most water wants to kill me. Humm.

The good news is that I live in Quebec where a huge number of Irish immigrants came through. So, logically launching the ARRR!!! ooo aaa from here should be doable. I'm thinking if we got really smart monkeys which could read maps we could both stay on dry land.

This appears to require more thought. The evil villians in Bond movies make it look so easy.

Perfect weather today. I can't believe I'm in the house.

Oh, yeah I can...I'm allergic to mosquitoes tongue

So to entertain myself, I'm doing my "Culinary Genius" imitation for dinner. Garlic crusted chicken, maybe a little risotto (if I'm feeling really ambitious--if not, I'll probably roast a few new potatoes in with the chicken), and I've had a special request for glazed carrots. And a big...

Yay for Friday...not that I've worked this week or anything, really. Just yay for Friday smile

Anyone seen the new Star Wars movie? I probably won't, honestly. I tend to shy away from the movies that *everyone* loves. I've never seen Titanic and I'm ok with that smile Besides, I fall firmly on the Star Trek side of that particular spectrum. Captain Picard could explore my final...

...my internet connection sucketh today...

and nothing else really interesting is going on anyway. I'm still looking for a new job that will actually capture my interest for more than 23 seconds. So far, no go. Anyone have any suggestions for me? smile

Well, a war started today on my other "I'm addicted" website so perhaps I'll go fight a couple of battles. Go bad guys!
