Someone...I'm begging here. Please leave good news in my comments. Because for pete's sake, what in the world is going on right now? Can NO ONE have good news?
I talked to my buddy Mark yesterday--he occupies a space in my life with several labels: Should-Have-Been Lover, Part Time Substitute Father, and always, always Unfailingly Supportive Friend. He's begun suffering from... Read More
It will get better but you have to grieve first. I mean really, you lost one of your best friends.
What helped me when I had to put one of my cats down was to tell myself that he had lived a full life and pretty much led the life of a spoiled house cat (much like yours I suspect). And in a strange way it was better to put him down (because I could sort of prepare myself for it) rather than think about the suffering he would have gone through and never knowing if this was the day I would come home and find out he had passed away.
I do promise it will get better with time but it's the whole time part that sucks the most.
Take your time, grieve and we'll all still be here when you feel up to chatting again!
Thanks, you guys, for the comforting words. It means a lot to me.
Kitty update: Chez has his x-ray this morning--probably as I type this. The vet said she'd call me back within the next 45 minutes or so with the results. He's having a little trouble breathing today, which they warned me was probably going to happen, so he's had an injection to help... Read More
Mentally, I'm better, but I think I got food poisoining today... The last thing I ate was a ham sandwich with mayo... the mayo must have gone bad: after eating it, shortly thereafter, I got a headache, stomach pain, dizziness... not a good seen.
Sorry to hear about your kitties! I was face with the situation of having to decide to put one of my Siamese down because he has swallowed something and needed a big operation. Fortunately, I decided to have him operated.
Oh my, I'm so sorry about your kitty. I lost a cat at the emergency vet a couple of years ago, so I know how difficult this must be for you. It's very tough to lose a good pet, but you also don't want it to suffer.
I don't know about the job. Basically, it's mine if I want it, but I just can't see myself selling cars (although the money is attractive.)
Thanks for the congrats. Yeah, I know...pretty scary that I'm going to be someone's dad, but I'm so excited!

(Warning: if you're in a particularly good mood, or don't care about other people's pets, don't read this, because I am not in the mood to hear about how I ruined your mood, and I definitely don't want to hear how it's just a freakin' cat, for god's sake.
Anyway.)
So y'all know how I am about my cat, Sanchez.... Read More
I know how you feel. I've been through that with a few dogs. Max had what we think was a seizure a few weeks ago. He got started to flop around on the ground then got all tense and couldn't move for like a minute or two. It scared the crap outta me, more me than Max I think cause he was up and waging his tail like 5 minutes later. I hope your kitty is okay.
Goblintcat, since you're the first (ok, only) person to express curiosity, this one's for you
I had to run a few errands the other night (I don't know which one, because I'm slowly losing track of which day of the week this is) and everything was perfectly normal. When I left for work 3 hours later, I pulled out of my driveway, started heading... Read More
I had something weird and funny happen last night between 7 (when I was out running an errand) and 10:30 (when I left for work) at my house. I took pictures but y'all will have to be patient. I have to go to work before I'm late
I think I actually used a voodoo curse to kill my sim that time. There are certain things that are punishable by death. Hottubbing with Mortimer is one of them!
It's been a busy week, and it's only going to get worse as the next one approaches. I've had a ton of work done on the house--mainly the kitchen, bathrooms, and family room--but it's all coming together nicely. Hooray! That just means I'm going to get bored with something else and want to start a new project

Hey there! McCartney, huh? Well, he's on a Bono-type crusade and telling Canada what to do. This past week, he was in Newfoundland with his wife posing with a baby seal telling the media that Canada has to stop clubbing seals and end the seal hunt altogether. Fact of the matter is that "clubbing" ended years ago... Mind you, I'm not for killing seals for fun and profit, but when they're overpopulated and threaten the fishing industry and put people out of work, you have to do something. McCartney went on Larry King with his wife and the had argued with the premier of Newfoundland (kind of what you guys would consider of govenor of the state) and told him that "Canada has to stop the bloodshed" and crap like that... the premier really put them in their place when he made them realize how misinformed they were (ie. overpopulation, the way seals are killed, etc.). But they weren't listening... kept going on and on about "we have to save the seals" and shit like that. The best was when I saw in the news where McCartney and his wife were posing with a baby seal and the thing tried to bite them! lol! Classic! Go home you toffey nose, uninformed, malodorous pervert (thanks Monty Python). Oh yeah, and the Beatles suck! lol!
I feel ya on the busy week, all my weeks are busy. Next week starts off Spring Break at teh D-land so we're probly going to be busy till a little after New Years! Hurray! And I'm sorry about your aunt. Hopefully your busy week will still be somewhat enjoyable!
