I survived my first night at the desk. There was *nothing* going on last night, and I mean nothing. I bonded 4 people out of jail and listened to about 12 phone calls, and that was the entire evening.

Oh, whoever asked--I think it was slavewire--a shift is 8 hours. 8 hours of trying to climb into these tall chairs with wheels on them. I am definitely not tall, so every time I went to sit, the chair would squirt out from under me so there I was, having to climb on a stupid milk crate. Very attractive Oh, and we spent a lot of time discussing and comparing ringtones. One of the cops had a Bon Jovi song. Lisa Marie had some hip hop thing her niece chose. Angela had Hollaback Girl. Julie had Willie Nelson singing Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain. And me, I'm apparently very boring, because I have one of my phone's generic songs...which is OK, because it's When The Saints Go Marching In, and it reminds me of New Orleans and I love it

And now I'm off to get ready for another round. Hopefully it'll be slightly more exciting than last night, but (ARE YOU LISTENING UP THERE?) not much more exciting. I don't need to be overwhelmed
