It's barely even fall and I'm already planning for spring. Fair warning--the spoiler is full of ramblings about flowers, so read it at your own risk of being bored to death:
SPOILERS! (Click to view)For the first time, I'm harvesting impatiens seeds. What a pain that is, as the seed pods look cute and harmless, but are actually triggered to explode at the tiniest touch. If they don't, it's because the seeds aren't ready to go yet. The good part is, it'll give me something springlike to do in February--those long dark days when it seems that icy winter will never release its grip on the trees and first bulbs of spring and my soul. That's when I will attempt to sprout the seeds in trays that will live on top of the refrigerator for warmth.
Now, I don't expect that it'll work. I'm sure I'll be handing over my fair share of cash to the garden centers in May like I always do. But maybe--MAYBE!--I'll be surprised. And maybe--MAYBE!--I'll be able to leave the impatiens behind next year and move on to primroses. They're so pretty, and they smell so good, and I have visions of creating a primrose path...and not
the one Shakespeare envisioned, either
On a less floral note, I think I'm going to give that Lumina a spin. I hate feeling trapped at home, and I'm afraid that fixing Moose's exhaust is not going to solve all her problems. My cousin says, "Get the Lumina, fix Moose a little at a time, then if it turns out the Lumina sucks, you can fall back on Moose."
Dammit, I hate when people make sense but I don't have the cash to make good on the advice
