It's a madhouse out there!

But I think I'm done Christmas shopping, YAHOO!! except for my traditional annual Christmas Eve run to Topsy's Popcorn. I always put a big bag of flavored popcorn in everyone's stocking, and the one year I skipped it, oooh, did I get yelled at shocked

I even got through the post office without hurting anyone. I'm telling you, I deserve some...

Tis the season for all the nuts to run amock in the shopping centers! Glad to hear you survived though! And post offices are just pretty much creepy all the time.
breezey:
Looks like I will be doing a majority of my shoping the day before christmas eve. puke

Took the psych evaluation. Blah.

Got a conditional offer of employment--if I pass the psych eval, and a Voice Stress Analysis (basically a lie detector test), and a drug test and about 5 other things. Holy smokes, it's like a 10-step process tongue

But! I finally, FINALLY got my Christmas cards done! Woohoo! biggrin
breezey:
Woohoo!

Elements of this day have absolutely sucked whatever

Other elements have not. Like the cookies in the oven, and the presents that I've gotten wrapped and under the Christmas tree, and the surprises that I'm planning and how much fun it is to do nice things for other people smile

Ok, so FINALLY, after how many months, I got a call from a captain at my local police department asking me when I can come in for my psychological evaluation and fingerprinting shocked That means, if I'm not too insane (or at least I manage to hide it well) I will be once again gainfully employed. Whoohoo! smile The evaluation is Thursday morning. He wanted me to...

It's not that you NEED a psych evaluation but hey, if they want to give one for free...well why not?

Honestly I didn't know what Screamers was either till I turned on the tv tonight. It appears to be some form of sci-fi evil robots will kill you sort of movie. I just happened to turn it on and I heard that line. I really like that line for some reason. I'm sure it's profound on some level or other! wink

Have fun with the psyc excam, make it interesting! mad
Oh, and you're not allowed to get sick!

Ah, the day just gets better and better. A new set from StellaBlue? Aw, yeah, baby smile

In other news, I feel like I've been run over by a truck and I have NO idea what I did to myself. It's that "oh my god, I worked out way too hard after not working out for way too long" feeling, only it's not in any...

I feel you on the screaming kids. Trust me!
randomrockstar:
No worries! I can't even listen to the stuff let alone allow it to escape my vocal chords!

Screaming kids make me want to scream...and my lungs are much more developed and in better condition (now that I've quit smoking!)

We usually go play in the snow in Wrightwood, which is about 30 minutes from our parents house, so we go sleding (with the plastic ones you can get from the grocery store) and then hit this little fastfood joint and go thaw out at my inlaws, Fun day all around. biggrin

ring fingure still broken, but it doesn't really hurt, so no problems. biggrin

Laundry = bah!

On a happy note, I've nailed a huge fluffy comforter over my north-facing sliding glass door and am noticing an appreciable increase in the temperature of my family room.

Tacky? Oh yes. Warmer? OH HELL YES!! biggrin
goblintcat:
Laundry. Oh how I hate it! And honestly, tacky is a small price to pay for warmth! Heck, I live in a student town. 90% of all the windows here are covered with some form of linen or other!
breezey:
Mnementh and I took all our laundry to his parents house when we went for thanks giving, his mom and grandma ended up folding it all and putting it in our laundry bags for us (we didn't ask, and keeping his grandma from laundry is like trying to keep a pig out of the mud, impossible). And if it makes your house warmer for free, more power to you!

Christmas Explosion, part II.

Well, it's mostly done, I think. I need to iron the tree skirt, which ended up in a wad even though I distinctly remember folding it neatly and putting it away...unless that just happened in my imagination, which is ALWAYS possible.

And the top's cut off because the angel's not up there yet. She's not working right and I'm really unhappy...

Well, I figure someone should enjoy the adventures that seem to happen to me. AND it's in writing! So I can always relive the adventures again and again! smile

On the up side, children don't bite you either! wink I'm a little worried. I'm teaching in a different hospital tonight (still helping out the Sherbrooke school). Lord only knows what'll happen. Maybe I won't go through the emergency room this time! smile
