It's official.

I'm a full-fledged bum.

It's 5 pm, and I haven't even managed to get out of my PJs yet.

whatever

I wish I could spend all day in my jamies. I get two days off a week and one of them is spent in school (Mon. from 9-645). I spent my other day off this week doing laundry at the inlaws. That wasn't too bad though, I love them and my mother-in-law helped me match socks (I hate doing that) and fold clothes.
breezey:
I wish. I'm taking 15 units at school, working about 30-35 hours a week and trying to take care of the hubby (Mnementh), which is a large chore in itself! biggrin But now I'm off to bed, seeing as how I can barely keep my eyes open after "studing" dutch art in the 16th and 17th centuries. puke

Tired of rain.

Really tired of hurricanes.

New Orleans hotel website said yesterday that any reservations after Oct. 15 are considered firm, as they will be up and running, but as my entire reunion group has backed out, I've still got to call and cancel our room. Nothing like kicking my favorite dog while it's down.

Now 3 significant levee breaches before the storm surge...

Hm. There seems to be some sort of drama on SG of which I am completely oblivious...if anyone wants to summarize it for me, the little Gladys Kravitz in me would be grateful. I never let her spy on my neighbors so I probably owe her a little somethin' wink

In other news, I'm considering spending a week in Arkansas, but I don't know if I...

I'm sad today. It's the last official day of summer frown Fall depresses me (yes, I know. I've heard it before. "But it's so beautiful," and on and on. All I see is so many things I love (i.e. all my plants and flowers) dying and all I feel is me getting cold. I'm Summergirl, not a ray of sunshine).

My god, I have a...

I wish I could appreciate summer as much as you do, but my body doesn't support this season. I'm dizzy very easily because of the heat and here, the humidity is really unbearable. If it can cheer you up, remember that winter is when we are the closest to the sun and supposedly, it's when we get more sunny days.

I felt in the cable TV trap, too! Not even two years ago, I didn't had TV and now I've got many TV shows that I don't want to miss. CSI is great!!

smile , Otsu.

New Season.

Nip/Tuck.

9pm central, F/X. (Repeating at 10:30, if you miss the beginning.)

Need I say more?
breezey:
I can't watch that show. Blood guts, I can't handle it. puke
goblintcat:
But I don't get F/X frown Actually, I don't even know what F/X is. My life is woefully out of touch with all the cool American tv channels.

I watched a documentary on how sugar is just as evil as Big Tobacco and changed the course of Canada last night. Creepy. Does nothing to deter me from sugar but it was still interesting.

My mom, lovely woman that she is, gave me a few samples of Allegra that her doctor gave her for allergies. I am ordinarily not all about drugs of any sort (with the notable exception of Advil, which is my hero) but most of my allergy symptoms are much better and I'm awake!

And I'm cooking biggrin Nothing outrageous, just a tiny mexican feast for one...

Well, if the pills are working, that's good news. Hmm, perhaps now I will see if I have the stuff to make tacos...
sugar_boy:
You ever tried the over the counter Clariton or Allevert for allergies?

I'm not even going to attempt to talk like a pirate. ,_,

So, I skipped the benadryl. I only slept for about 6 hours. As a result, I now have very full lips. (and fat toes and puffy eyes and swollen fingers, but those parts are not fun.)

I'm going to have to start exploring some of those alternative options y'all gave me--thanks for the ideas smile

Whoo, now I get to go to the grocery store...

Dilemma:

Allergies--stuffy head, sneezing and coughing, and every part of me swells up, from my lips to my fingers to my toes.

Benadryl--kicks the allergies (mostly) in the ass, but makes me sleep for 10 hours in a row then wander around in a fog for the next 6.

Which do you guys think is worse? Because I've tried both and I don't know anymore.

breezey:
Benadryl makes me twitch (think crack addict needing a fix). It doesn't make me sleepy at all, but the twitching is pretty bad so I try not to take it if I don't have to. Try claritin or like the target brand it works pretty well. I don't sleep very well, so sleeping for 10 hours sounds pretty nice to me. biggrin

i'm not sure where i found that second pic.. if it's from the same site as the first pic, then the website is called Draw-or-Die, but that was aaaages ago, and last i checked, that site was undergoing changes. the pics i post are pics that i've stored on my hard disk from months ago now.
as for the little monster, i guess it reminds me of the ghost monster thingies in pacman.. but it could be anything or nothing whatever

i see you're suffering quite a dilemma i see... shocked

I was not ready to get up this morning. Unfortunately, when you're sleeping on your side and there's a cat who decides your ribs make a nice place to stand so that he can properly put his cold wet nose in your ear and demand breakfast in his outdoor voice, sleeping is not an option frown

It's my own fault, though. I picked up a very...

WTF is up with all this rain??

I need to get my hair cut *bad*. A year ago, it was about 2-3 inches past my shoulders. Now it's down to my waist again. No wonder I had so much trouble forcing it into a ponytail this morning eeek

I'll be back later smile

PS Random oddness of the day. I bought a new can of Tony Chachere's...

Man your hair does grow qick. I started growing mine out for my wedding last summer, it was an inch or two below ears, and now it is an inch or two above my bra strap. Don't know how long I'm gonna let it get. It's terminally straight. It does nothing. If I want body in it I have to do two french braids when it is wet and leave it in for like 3 days. mad

At least you read the directions. The boys in my house need help making mac and cheese. "Read the directions!"
randomrockstar:
To your waist? Good lord! I wish that I could grow my hair that long!

I don't know about the rain, though Sugar! Summer just never seemed to make it to the Central Coast of Cali this year...odd... confused

What a productive day smile I met with my financial advisor guy, who I really like for many reasons, but most especially because he has a little figurine in his office of Truman the Tiger wearing a chef's hat with the KU Jayhawk in a big soup cauldron in front of him biggrin That's my kinda guy smile

Anyway. I also made it to the post office--Goblintcat...

Hi, hope dinner was good. I've been working 12-14 hours 7 days a week for the last couple weeks and it appears I will be doing the same for a while (good thing: I can buy the smoker I always wanted, bad thing: I am fucking exhausted.) I may be going to NOLA as a volunteer with Red Cross next month.

Umm... Free dinner is always good. When I have a large meal I tend to look slightly pregnant afterwards, I think my tummy was kinda lumpy in the pic cause I was still full from my yummy tacos and gooey chocolate chip cookies.

It's raining again.

I should've stayed in bed because there is NOTHING going on around here.

Oh, except the new season of House starts tonight. I'm looking forward to that. I have a little bit of a crush on Hugh Laurie smile
