"Land Of The Free, and the Home of the Brave" - Except from The Star Spangled Banner

Brave I can respect.... it's Free I have a problem with... dont kill me yet just let me get out my point first, then feel free to fling rocks.

I just watched Hollow Man 2 (yes, kids, they made a 2). The premise was that a man was turned invisible to be an unseen soldier. The Idea was to create "a more secure/safer/peaceful world" . Now here's where my point comes across. The desire for safety, peace, and/or security doesn't really mesh (as far as my understanding goes) with true "Freedom", because being truly free is to be able to do ANYTHING without anyone bothering you about it. That doesn't just run with the good things in life (walking in the park at anytime, falling in love with anyone, etc.), but the bad things as well. To be truly free is to also be able to kill, maim, steal, covet, hurt, and so on and so forth without fear of any prosecution, or PERsecution. It just finally clicked that it's Anarchy that makes us truly free. So I guess that means that people don't wanna be truly free, they wanna be safe, secure, and in peace, so they're willing to give up that true sense of freedom for it. But then again, that's fine too. I don't want anyone coming in to steal my crap and kill my ass either. I'm not sure why this is running through my skull at the moment, but it is and I thought I would share... Peace all!!
foi:
yes, people as a majority are complacent fucks who require structure and order within the safe confines of cages. They know what to expect and paths are clearly marked.

that's cool a movie made you think philosophy. i have that too, but i just can't articulate it.
