last sunday i went to see dresden dolls, sonic youth, and pj mutherfucking harvey in kansas city. i was totaly stoked at the chance of seeing pj live. when i got there though, i was greated with the news that she got stuck in canada, so i was pretty pissed. i decided to keep my ticket and see the show anyway. some band called the music opened an i wasn't too impressed. dresden dolls put on a really great show i must say. they even coverd war pigs by black sabath. sonic youth was really great too. overall, i still had a good time even though pj wasn't there and probably won't have another show in kansas city ever gain. sigh...
after the show i was going to grab a bite to eat at denny's but they just closed. i met a couple outside and they invited me to go eat out with them. we ended up going to this dinner that was right next to the venue funnily enough. we sat there and ate and talked a good long while, exchaning offensive jokes and talking about music. that pretty much topped off the night as being really cool and enjoyable in spite of the afformentioned absence of pj. i crashed at my sisters house that night and got to see my niece and nephew for a little bit in the morning which was really nice. unfortunately i had to see their worthless, good for nothing dad too.
saturday i was going to see captured by robots, which is this guy who has robots who play instruments. i stopped by a party i heard about to see if anyone else wanted to go and ended up staying. a lot of cool people showed up and they had 5 dollar cups for quality micro brew beer. i ended up talking to this girl who was really cool and i ended up crushing on her. thought it was cool that she initiated the conversation with me instead of me having to say something stupid. i think i freaked her out a little cuz i had "i (bone) dead people" on my cup and started talking about the movie nekromantik after she commented on it. she also said i smiled too much. still, she hung around me and talked, so she probably wasn't too scared. i was going to ask her out, but she ended up disappearing before i could, which maybe is a good thing. i know a few people who kinda know her so who knows. eh, probably nothing.
started working on my zine. hopefully it'll get done before thanksgiving. also started working on my ed gein costume. i've almost got the mammery vest done.
