I'm waiting for that sun.

I'm waiting for that sun to shine, and for the smell of hot rock-street dust and olive oil to waft by and stick in my nostrils for months. Years, even. I'm waiting for that sun to shine down on my shoulders, and turn them a rosy pink, before I reapply my sunscreen. Before I build up a tolerance. Before I say "fuck it," and burn myself raw. Before it loses it's spark. I'm waiting for that sun to shine down on my shoulders and my face, so that I shield my eyes as I exit into the street, my head buzzing from that wine-and-fruit punch called "Sangria," and my feet moving in the graceful-comme-passionate manner of flamenco. I'm waiting for that sun to shine down on my shoulders and face and outstretched arms, as I spin in circles on the street; thankful to be alive and thankful to be aware of being alive, and thankful for that lively feeling of thankfulness completely overwhelming me.



Apparently I've grown fond of repetition in my writing. Philip Glass, anyone? I'll be proud of you if you know that reference.




So.


Went to the SGTC bbq yesterday, and had an awesome time. Met a ton of people who I never knew I never knew, and am looking forward to the next time I can see them. I'm fucking exhausted now though, really. Really, really. And yet, really. . . it was really, really well worth it. Time to say goodnight to the moon, mon chat orange qui ronfle fort, and the little potted patchouli plant on my headboard. And to all of you lovely people, I leave bearing pictures:
