It feels good to be off from work. Taking a vacation when there is really nothing to do is gratifying in a slacker sort of way. I have done nothing but catch up on music and it has been great. I set up the guitars and cleaned them. I even brought out the Les Paul from it's hibernated state and managed to blister my walls with pure rock fury. I saw our new neighbors today. They are--old to say the least. I seriously wish the four hot girls that were looking at the house next door would have bought it, but oh well. They were so nice. They even came over to ask us how we liked the neighborhood and I lied: "We love it here. It is great. We know everyone here. If you move in next door we'll even throw a block party to welcome you. Can I jump your ignorant bones?" Alas, we have been blessed by the couple from "American Gothic" instead. At least they will keep their lawn mowed and be quiet. The old man was outside pulling weeds today. Maybe he'll pull ours if I tell him I was a WWII veteran and only maintained my youthful look due to radiation poisoning I suffered while bombing Japan from The Enola Gay. I don't think he'll buy it though. Oh well. I've decided I'm going to start a country band. I've always wanted to be in a country band. I don't particularly like country music and I feel that if I can force myself to play it (and hopefully enjoy myself while doing so) I can play anything. I even wrote a few country songs today. They are not entirely finished. I still need to write lyrics for them and I think there needs to be a few changes in the structure of both songs but they are at least "working shells." I already picked out a name though: Jorge Twang y los Broken Strings. No matter what anyone tells you the hardest part of being in a band is picking out a name. It has broken up more than a few bands that I know of. I've also known a few bands that were good but could never get anyone to come to their shows because their name sucked (Broken Hinge, Mighty Joe Old, Elliot Gunn--anyone hear of them---I didn;t think so.) I have found a site though that has quite a few band names on it. Some of them are good. Most are downright fucking horrible. Here is the site: http://www.muzique.com/band.htm
As a public service to some of our lazier viewers I have included a few I thought were great/funny/really really really bad.

Metal Monks
Gentlemen Clowns
Karmic Bitch Slap
The Femme Reapers (SG model Death Metal band?)
Jesus Wannabes
Pompous Pilate
Deaf Leper (Sign language metal for people with skin disorders?)
Sancho Panzer
Dentistry Before Novocaine
Dimestore Hookers
The Fuh Kings
Afro Scream
Lesbian Beach Party
Full Metal Jackie O
Buckwheat's Barber (my personal favorite)
Monochrome Rainbow
Medulla Oblong Gadda Da Vida
Rope Ladder to Hades
Jehovah's Walrus
Artist Formerly Known as Needle Dick
Bulimic Buffet
Eroticamcorder (I love this one)
Pornocopia (Love this one as well)
The Tchotchkes (This would actually be a good band name, It was the restaurant that Jennifer Aniston worked at in "Office Space". Fuck you guys--this one is mine.)

That's it. I have to start a band name post,
