It's a junk yard out back. Jeff, Layla, the kids on a sunny spring day like to visit. Since their dad told them Mr. Zablowdowski was building a submarine, the boys are curious. Curious good. Cautious better. I told them everything at Mr. Zablowdowski's house is hard, sharp, explosive, or just plain dangerous. The three of brothers stick close together with wide eyed wonder.

I felt bad. Layla was about nine months along with the last. The middle one in arms. The first hugged in tight to her thigh. Took a tumble off the old concrete step out back. And bounced. After the initial startled and fightened cries. The tangle of limbs unwound on the old cold concrete patio below. All were fine.
