1 Corinthians, chapter 13

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful;
it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Older I got. The more patient I got. The less time I got.

My cousin. He died. Not more than three months from my uncle's funeral. Bacterial Endocarditis the autopsy determined. As if the house collapsed from the tenant flushing copious piles of crap through the pipes.

A black box interned the remains. An etched black glass panel it bore the name. It bore the iron cross. Sister's design. There was no memorial. There were pictures. My aunt, I sent flowers.

Honour gaurd from the local Legion performed the salute at the end of my uncle's service. A well oiled machine. Tried. Tested. Trued. A fitting tribute. As a tip left at the bar for service.
