I should have got new glasses years ago, but kept putting it off. Until I couldn't. These new ones have green-tinted lenses, which photograph much darker than they actually are.

Invented for a Mr Coke, by hatmakers Lock & Co., it was mass produced when it became popular, by a company called Bowler. The name stuck. Original Cokes were protective headgear, and were tested by the simple expedient of being stood upon. They are stiff nowadays, but not THAT stiff. I always wanted one since watching the wonderfully kinky 1960's TV series 'The Avengers', in which the character John Steed wore one with a steel crown. He also had a sword umbrella, but that's going a bit too far, I think.
