I just noticed the last food item on the list: 'ergot infected wheat' Ergot fungus (claviceps purpurea) contains the alkaloid Ergotamine, from which LSD can be isolated. Ergot normally attacks rye, and if undiscovered, and milled into flour, and thence into bread, the consequences can be lethal. This was the cause of outbreaks of what was known in mediaeval times as 'Saint Anthony's Fire', which literally wiped out whole villages.😳😳😳😉
