I'm officially on summer break. It's quite bittersweet - emphasis on the bitter part. I was not ready to send my incredibly awesome 7th graders to The Evil (my name for the horrible teacher in 8th grade who they'll all get) and to see my 8th graders from last year and from my clubs this year, move on to high school, most never to be seen again. That is one of the hardest parts of teaching for me, something I'm not used to even after 12 years of teaching. I'm also having a hard time adjusting from having a shit-ton of work to do to having very little I have to do. It is my hope I will break out of this funk so I can enjoy myself. I want to read a lot and see friends and make art and explore new things and work out a lot.

I just got clued into the fact that there's been a lot of power outages/small tornadoes in your area.. hope all is okay!
