Who really needs whale oil anyway? What does it do? Enable growth of a blowhole?

If he didn't believe himself to be God that doesn't necessarily mean God doesn't exist. Or is he saying he doesn't believe in trees because he himself wasn't a tree.
If God is who people say he is, then Nietzsche believes he would be it. EG: The bestest. But, he was being a little flippant. (So, if a tree was a man called Fred with a grey beard who was also the bestest, then N. would believe he was one)
...the word Christianity means the Christian religion, based on the life and teachings of Jesus. Just because Jesus is dead it doesn't mean people stop believing.
Of course. But many Christians are criticised for really not getting it. I imagine that if Jesus (presuming his existence only for the sake of argument) knew what many Christians do under 'his' name, he would be quite sickened.
Also Nietzsche believed that a pupil/admirer/whatever (basically if you follow the work or like teachings of someone) then the greatest compliment you can give them as an idol/teacher/whatever is to move on from them and create your own world views, rejected theirs as you go. Therefore, the term 'Nietzschen' is a contradiction in terms.
So, anyway - why the bad mood, sulky bum?
